Happy Halloween!

The NASH Illustrators critique art in style - just in time for the spooky season!

The NASH Illustrators often meet up monthly to discuss art, critique work, and provide music recommendations while creating. This time, we were able to celebrate in style with our first Halloween event! We’re thankful that the Brentwood Starbucks location we go to puts up with us 🙂

Halloween 2025 NASH Illustrators - Part 2

We knew that we wanted to have our own costume party but interestingly enough, our costumes also reflected our art style and subjects too. I suppose this shouldn’t be too much of a surprise!

Tina Ritchie’s (pictured above to the left) artistic world is one of beasts and those that cohabitate with them. Tina showed us an impressive array of comic book pages in the works as one of many projects in her pipeline.

Josie Smoot (pictured above to the right) has been focusing a good bit on character design. Inspired by old world themes and design, her work blends a nice balance of both sleekness and just an overall sense of cool.

Halloween 2025 NASH Illustrators - Part 3

I am pictured at the left in this shot as a Greek noble, reading from a parchment scroll. My work lately has been leaning towards modern subjects (pets this time!) and places but I also am excited to bring in more classic Greek mythological elements in the future.

The Illustrious Sanguine brought out the big guns this time with a huge color drawing based on environmental concerns as well as a collection of Inktober-inspired comic pages. If you haven’t seen his massively detailed work, you are missing out!

And finally, we have Brandon Bell (Omniatelier) who has an incredible homemade costume complete with a lighted mask! Brandon tackles subjects centered around children and their struggles in much of his work. Fantasy settings and more realistic ones form the backdrop there. We’re all trying to get better with anatomy so he showed us his progress there.

Wrapping Up

Halloween is a favorite holiday of ours – not just because of the candy – but also because of the opportunity for us to show what we love and care about in an outward sort of way. We might spend a lot of our time quietly in the studio (or grooving to the tunes of an obscure band) but we embrace our ability to share our visions with those around us.

Join us next time as we share more art, stories, and reflections – possibly with more themed work ahead!
